And Friday Approaches...

Somehow preparation for the trip is more tiring than preparation for exams.

Exams uses more brain power, packing requires physical energy.

Stand up, sit down, forgot something, stand up, walk, go get it...

Anyway, it's Friday oredy.

Never-ending

I started packing a week and a little more ago,

But the packing never seems to end,

There are still things that cannot go into the luggage yet.

Argh, every few days my bedroom floor gets sprawled all over with stuff.

But I shall enjoying the packing moments while it lasts.

Current GPA

Ah well, 3 result slips came in for 3 modules in a span of one week,

Not too bad, expected grades, nothing surprising.

Thus, I'm proud to announce that my current GPA is 3.75 out of 4. (:

Yay!

Droop, Drop and Decrease!

After paying off the residency, Intl' air tix + domestic air tix,

Goodness gracious, the bank account balance has taken a plunge. =(

It takes sooooooo long to save up yet so fast just to swipe it off.

Ah well, I'm still young, the money can be earned again,

But experiences only knocks once.

Haiz, don't like to look into my bank book now. -.-

The "Milo Date"

Ah, I kinda suggested brunch instead today,

So no milo today, but lunch at Thai Express and drinking H2O. Haha.

Well, he still owes me a cuppa milo and it shall be treated some other day.

Updates will come when there are any!
Surprise in a Christmas Card

I was babysitting on Saturday and the children gave me a christmas card,

How nice of them.

They said I could open it now, but I wanted to only open it at home.

By the time I got home, it was already 1am, so off to sleep I went.

The next day I had a "milo date" which turned out to be lunch date instead,

And a BBQ tonight took up time.

Just now after I had my bath,

I decided to open the card,

Besides a nice message from the kids,

ENCLOSED WAS 100 US DOLLARS.

SURPRISE SURPRISE.

How generous of them.

Ah, mum says to send them back a christmas card,

Which I will tomorrow.

Ahhhhhhh. The beauty of nice employers.

Regarding the previous post, people just need space to release steam,

And it doesn't matter whether I bring up the matter to the actual person or not,

As long as I decide not to, it just means I can take it in my personal stride,

And let it go after a while.

Conflicts are sometimes unnecessary.

Mouths belong to other people, they are entitled what they want to say,

As long as it does not go to libel or slander.

Don't get too affected by it, or assume that people are talking about you.

It might just NOT BE YOU.

Learn the Art of Communication

I finally got a glimpse (or many glimpses) of why communication is an art.

If you have spoken to someone who:

- is very defensive just about everything (or about most stuff)

- uses the wrong tone when talking to you (most of the time)

- is not tactful at all (or most of the time) when speaking with the choice of words

- takes a step ahead to assume what you are trying to say even when you don't actually mean what the person concludes as

- interrupts you when you are talking to someone else

Until you just don't feel like talking to the person anymore,

Well, you probably met someone who needs some training in Toastmasters.

Seriously I think Toastmasters has done me some good,

I know how to be more tactful now, compared to the past.

I got well pissed off and just needed to let off some steam.

But I think you gotta change the way you communicate?

Or offend more people in future?

I'm not the perfect communicator, but I learn from my mistakes and change for the better.

There is time for jokes and time for serious matters.

So use the right tone at the right time.

IT MATTERS.
Chiong Local Food AH!

The thought of not being able to eat local food for a while saddens me.

My chicky rice, fried kuay teow, satay mee hoon, rojak, wanton noodles,

Popiah, yong tau foo, teh peng, milo peng kosong gao, ramly burger,

Home cooked food...

Noooooooooo!!!

I'll be cranky, real bitchy.

And so this week, I have conquered wanton noodles and popiah,

Home cooked dishes & mum's soups.

Next week... EAT EAT EAT!!!

So What Happened Next?

Ah, if you are interested in the 'crush' that I mentioned a few entries ago,

I met him yesterday at a meeting...

Too bad we didn't have much to talk although he sat beside me.

I was holding an appointment.

But... technology has its benefits.

SMS-es work wonders.

And so... a milo date is coming up!

Collection Done!

Ah finally, visa collected.

After some complaints about late planning,

Going after coordinators for forms and asking them to process it,

And after a useless briefing and a useful one,

Applications OVER, COMPLETED and APPROVED.

Sleep Sleep Sleep...

Btw, I didn't have supper that night.

I was so tired that I slept through the supper-hunger.

These days have been nice and cold,

Just great for sleeping in till almost noon time.

It's so nice to just stay under the warm blankie with my beloved bolster and not get up.

Ah, BLISS.

Yesterday was day out with darling RP.

We watched High School Musical 3,

And after reading reviews about missing school,

Yes, after watching it, I wonder why JC wasn't that fun,

With theatre and so many songs.

BAH. Just the BORING local exam-oriented rigid education system here,

Which only focuses on MATHEMATICS & the SCIENCES.

Seriously, I wonder if ANYONE from my JC got a scholarship to Stanford to study law.

Or maybe even perhaps to a local U to study law...

Like continue to daydream... HAHA.

But sure graduation part was touching.

Plus the red graduation gown.

Review by Esther: *** out of 5

Slightly boring at the beginning, dances at the back worth a second watch.

Now it's time to catch HSM I and II.

HUNGRY!

I'm hungry, as usual at this sorta timing.

So tempted to head to the newly opened 24-hour Xin Wang HK Cafe near my place.

Ah, fried noodles...

Digress to look at California Pizza Kitchen website.

And just surfing, might be for dinner tomorrow with beloved RP.

Although my metabolism rate has dropped, I'm still perpetually hungry.

Even when I'm not, I can munch on something forever.

When I was in secondary school,

Lunch could be:
- Chicken Rice
- 2 rolls of popiah
- 1 bowl of dessert

And that is just nice.

When I went to JC,

Recess (@ 10.30am) would be:
- Plate of nasi padang/bryani with 1 meat, 1 veg + one other side
- Biscuits to snack thereafter

Lunch (about 3 hours later @ 1.30pm) would be:
- Bowl of noodles with fried chicken
- Something else to snack on after noodles

When lessons end for the day at about 4.30pm,

I'd be hungry again.

BAH, I'm hungry.

Should I toast some garlic bread?

Or make some creamy mushroom soup?

Or shall I just try not to think about it and sleep on it?

Shall tell you tomorrow whether I ate tonight.

But fear not, I've found a supper buddy who will be living with me when I'm overseas,

Whose high on supper needs too!

Supper nights in front of the fire place, here we come!

Application & Application Forms

Finally the almost S$400 visa application is completed,

After filling in forms in between modules and exams and sadly parting with my dollars...

But that means a few more steps closer to residency!!!

And more packing and more packing goes on~

Loading songs onto my mp3 player, and loading games into my DS...

Ho ho ho...

Anyway, the embassy is really clean, and the toilet too!

(Pam told me to must-visit the toilet.)

Minus the looooooong waiting time of about 3 hours to get everything done,

It went smoothly. (:

Interview was short and sweet,

Interviewer was nice.

Now it's just plain waiting...

And it comes again...

Crushes come and crushes go.

But here it comes again. (:

Who is it this time?

Well, shan't reveal.

Anyway the feeling might just fade off...

... within days...
Mood Dictated

Many times an event or circumstance dictate the mood of a person.

For me, my mood dictates what I will do during an event or circumstance.

So catch me in the right mood and I'm all well and good.

Catch me in the wrong mood, I'll just be quieter than usual and the facial expression says it all.

Somehow, there are times when I just don't feel like talking or doing anything,

And there are times I'm high for socializing.

Ah, and of course the mood dictates the food cravings. =D

So usually guys let me do the picking, since I can be quite a picky eater as well.

Before you think that I'm difficult to handle and troublesome,

That's pretty much a typical woman.

HIGH Notes

I know I'm high, super high until my classmates think so too.

I'm already in the Christmas festive mood!

But serious I can't help it.

Packing and the end of everyday lifts me to a higher high.

Can't wait, can't wait!

Nothing else is and will get me distracted.

As for other things, heck it.

You'll have to wait.

Pack Pack Pack

And the packing begins...

Sitting on zip lock bags to squeeze air out,

Getting my room floor sprawled with stuff... (:

Ticking things off against the checklist.

Heh heh heh.
GEAR UP FOR CHRISTMAS

Though it's still early... but not early to get into the Christmas festive mood.

Check out the new song on the blog by Alvin & The Chipmunks~

Cute hor?

Can't wait, can't wait for Christmas this year!

FREEDOM BABY!

Seriously I think I over studied for the politics paper.

Correction, is for Politics, Economics, America & the Future Exam paper.

But it's always good to over study then under study.

Memorized 73 identifications, read the text, highlighted, did every question on some things to think about...

BAH. Nonetheless, it's over!!!

Whoopee!

Now it's pack pack pack pack pack pack time...

Heh heh heh. =D

The History Continues...

The study of a century of American History continues...

I can rattle off the order of US Presidents' in order better than SG's presidents, lah.

Freedom, here I come..............

Oh, did you watch the concession speech of McCain and victory speech of Obama?

Seriously, while I'm happy that Obama won,

Do you think about what future holds for South East Asia?

Hmmm...

Updates!

1. The eye is ok now, except that it gets tired if I stare at bright screens for too long.

2. It's the scramble of the week before exams, as usual. So it's textbook fumbling and re-living a century of American History all over again. (and again.)

3. I'm proud to say that I have once again spent less than $10 last week, with the exception of transport fares by having all meals at home. Or else, leech on mum... Heh heh heh.

4. Oh, did I mention that I solved my 2x2 Rubik's cube? Ha, really I solved it by accident. But nonetheless, an achievement although it took a few months...

5. And these two mornings have been crazy. Imagine waking up to drilling at 9am when I planned my beauty sleep to a later 10am. Ok, I know I'm sounding whiny and bimbo-tic/blond/bitchy but Esther with insufficient sleep is a grouchy-cranky-can't concentrate properly-Esther not to be provoked... ROAR.

Finally, my brain juice is running out. Update again when I feel like it, when I feel good, when I have had my supplement of sleep...
