Free time!

Nine days of Values and Culture,

Nine days of Philosophy over.

Nine days of 5 books over.

And finally after nine days, some time to blog.

Well, this module has been fun, not as boring as I thought to be,

But tiring and taxing and draining.

It probably killed more brain cells as compared to Comparative Politics.

Two essay exams over, no final exams,

And only post-class assignment left.

Woo...

And it's interesting to have your professor as your facebook friend.

But really, with tuition, toastmasters and balancing readings & more readings,

It was a tough week with never-vanishing black eye rings.

Now that I've got more time on my hands,

It's time for some cooking mama... Haha.

Readings and more...

I finally learnt how to pronounce Protarchus and Plato's Philebus correctly.

And next, the mission is to conquer The Nicomachean Ethics by Aristotle,

And to pronounce the title.

But seriously, the language gets to you.

Luckily I was able to get used to it after reading about 5 pages or so.

Or else, good luck to myself.

But lessons have been fun so far,

The readings ain't that taxing, it ain't that hard to understand Philosophers.

And the story about shadows, fire, men in the cave?

And how the lecturer acted it all out?

Great.
Introducing the swim bud...!

I know you almost can't see anything,

But blame it on the swim bud's camera.

Will post a nicer one next time when we go swim. (:

1st day of Values and Cultures

Nice Mr. Lecturer with 2 daughters and suffering from jet lag.

Proud of myself for finished reading Philebus this morning,

And so I can move on to other readings.

Well Values and Cultures is like Philosophy,

And so sometimes it's cute to see that I'm not alone frowning when we hear something like,

"You'll never know what's in it in a thing."

But lesson has been great so far,

And I know that elf beside me can't take notes as fast as I can.

HAHA.

Skool reopens once again

It's after the holidays again.

Haha, it seems like I don't go to school at all.

Well, here it comes again.

6 readings UNDONE, first reading incomplete, not understood,

NOT a good sign.

And it's not good to realize where to start reading one day before school starts.

Bleah.
The Swim Clock

Last checked: 19 laps

Current check: 26.5 laps

Swam: 7.5 laps
Photos...

The other day, I happened to take the SMART bus that I used to take when I was 4.

Look at the old windows that it had...

And these seats...

Just reminds me of those times when I took the bus to nursery everyday.

And of course, had a day out with swim bud, Silas to Sim Lim & Funan,

This was what we ate to end the day...

Yumz.

Information

Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.

Bidding for Presents

Oh, someone already bidded for the Nintendo DS Lite for my present.

Hee!

Niece buying me an IKEA table...

Thoughts...

I wonder sometimes why the things I want nowadays are so expensive:

1) Wii

2) Nintendo DS Lite

3) Revamp my room

4) US trip funds

5) Shopping funds
---------------
I also wonder why things become more complex as I grow up.

Can't things just be simpler?

People change, places change, I change.

If only the world was a simpler place.
---------------
Do you ever wonder why the more money you have, the more you spend?

I'm always on the path for more money, yet more is spent.

Why can't I save more instead?
---------------
Is it becoming complicated because money is the culprit behind all these?

Why are we slaves to money?

Money is not the root of all evil, human nature is.
---------------
Money makes Esther happy yet confused.

The Leap Years & Fish & Co.

Well, The Leap Years was good,

Except for my full bladder nearing the end of the show,

That I had to evacuate immediately when the show ended.

Worth a second watch.

Then it was dinner with Kenneth after the show,

A seafood platter for two, is way too much.

Haha, but it was a good day out.

At least had something to do to keep my mind off my student's CA1 results.

It's one of those slack at home days...

Today's my FREE day, with nothing to do,

Other than to sit in front of the computer typing and clicking away.

No tuition, no school, not going out,

Probably heading to the bank later to sort out some accounts.

And I finally got my countdown timer!

It's a CASIO one that can time up to 99 hours, 99 minutes & 99 seconds.

I saw how the system worked well when I was babysitting,

Maybe it will work well when I'm tutoring as well too!

Can time my 1.5 or 2 hours right to the dot,

As well as time my students to work on stuff.

The new countdown timer has a clock,

And the countdown timer can time 4 different timings consecutively.

How nice.

And how nice to pay 23 bucks for it...

Did I mention how loud is it...?

Tuition, tuition, I'd rather go tutoring than to stay home.

I'm getting bored!

Money will roll in, and my tutees will improve.

Bored, bored & bored...

JC mate's 21st birthday

Hui Lin, one of my JC classmate celebrated her 21st birthday on 23rd Feb.

As you can see, most of my classmates were there.

As the function room was small and crowded,

The 5 of us decided to head elsewhere to take some arty farty photos...

The 5 of us used to roam around college together, toilets, lessons...

This looks nice, but I don't know why my face was 'bleached'.

Never seen my face so white before...

Ok, maybe this looks better...

I miss JC days and roaming around school with our school bags...
Leap to March

Hope you had a good leap day, especially to all born on that day.

Did you leap happily on 29 February?

Busy, busy, busy.

March will be a busy month judging from the planned schedule since one month back...

Leap, leap, leap,

Leap to a busy year ahead!

Top 3 Things when Dating a Girl

1. Don't let out your male chauvinism, it pisses her off.

2. Don't yell out all of a sudden in the midst of walking and mumble to yourself,

Especially when it is only a trivial matter.

Firstly it looks bad on you,

Secondly, it makes your date look bad.

3. Walk, talk, dress and behave like a cultured person,

Your date will appreciate you for it.

Sometimes, the person might not be someone you like,

But these tips will make friends like going out with you better.
