98-Dollar Eye Drops

With a painful, red teary eye while I was bathing,

I made the decision to see the doctor at midnight in kiasu-ism that something ain't right.

A Google search of a 24-hour clinic,

A phone call to check if it was really open,

A voice telling me that consultation at this time was $82-86 without medication,

And off I went.

Shine here shine there,

Look here look there.

Question whether I wear contact lens,

Wash hands...

Put paper into my eye to get a sample of my tears...

Wash hands...

"This is so sudden, I also don't know why it is like that.

I will give you some eye drops, if there's anything tomorrow, you come back."

NINETY-EIGHT DOLLARS for a "I don't know what happen" consultation that lasted less then 5 minutes.

A bottle of eye drops that relieves itch and redness...

TSK TSK TSK.

And so I say, GPs aren't specialist.

Can't count on them every time.

But if they gave the wrong diagnosis, there goes their practicing license.

What irony.

New Job Added to Job List

Previously, I was a:

- Relief Teacher
- Permanent Tutor
- Free Lance Babysitter

Now, a free lance trainer as well.

Almost all are linked to education, but do I see myself in the education sector after graduation? MOSTLY HIGHLY PROBABLY NOT.

But all these are good cash churners... (:

Some more money to tide the US trip is always welcome. Heh.

Living on a Budget

How is living on a budget like?

- Stay home all day, except when there's tuition, or go out with mum for breakfast.

- Entertain myself by watching teevee or surfing the internet; if all else fails, remind myself that the assignment is not yet one bit done...

- Only eat at coffee shops or hawker centers, high class fast food like MOS Burger is now a luxury.

- Try to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at home by going out with mum and stacking the snacks corner to a all-time high so that I can still binge on junk food.

- Understand that by doing all these for a little few weeks more means a luxurious holiday when I can spend like mad! MUAHAHAHA.

The Cute Cut

I had the staple go into my finger and bleeding at my tuition kid's house.

I asked for a plaster and............

She gave me a Hello Kitty Band Aid.

Rui Ping was so curious about it and said that I should take a picture and have it on my blog,

Since I'd almost never buy a Hello Kitty plaster.

But cute eh?

Looking at it made me feel better. (:

Unreliable, Undependable, Un-indispensable

This thing I bought over is trash really.

The alliteration says it all.

Just my luck.

Ever had such a dad?

Dad to mum: If they don't want to support you after they go out to work, you go to court and sue them lah!

Ever had a father who asks his ex-wife to sue his own kids?

Well just so that I have such a father.

Finding/Searching For Lost Stuff

Sometimes, things that are lost can no longer be found. There is no chance of chasing it back, no chance of experiencing it again nor can you find a substitute for it, although the temptation is great. I get trapped sometimes, into wanting to find it back, or finding a substitute to get back that feeling lost say 15 years ago. And it's hard, because sometimes I get sucked into it subconsciously. Now? I gotta be really careful in analyzing my OWN feelings and emotions. Like what the heck. When I see/read instances of it, there's just this funny queasy feeling in my tummy that I don't really enjoy.

Most of the time I tell myself that I am already very lucky in some sense in what I have now, and to just forget about it. Well well well, it's always easy to say but hard to commit to it. The thing is I can't just pretend nothing ever happened. It can be a struggle really, internally.

Having to constantly guard myself against it, is hard and tiring.

Oh I need a hug. But I know whoever it is from, the effect of it can never replace the one I lost.
The New DSi

Did you hear that Nintendo just released its new DSi? Haha, that means the DS Lite is outdated. Well, probably not. Besides featuring its 0.3 megapixel internal and external camera,

together with a larger screen...

And the lighter and thinner console, I saw reviews that the battery life ain't as long compared to DS Lite, and there is no slot for GBA cartridges. One can also wonder how the camera can come into use when playing games? Well, that is left to be seen...

Apparently, the cost of it ain't much higher than the DS Lite as well... If I didn't remember wrongly, the news anchor said that it is equivalent to S$260.

If the new games seem fun enough, and I have extra cash to spare, a DSi is on my "want list" next year. Or maybe a Wii would seem a better choice...

The Wednesday Public Holiday

Besides 2 tuitions in a row, because the exams are round the corner, I had some time to spare in the evening for dinner with a TM friend. And so the dinner venue was Aston's at The Cathay & dessert at a ice-cream parlour called u.d.d.e.r.s. which happens to be owned by my secondary school teacher. What a small world. Nonetheless, a nicer dinner and dessert amidst all the busy-ness is always welcome.

Finally tomorrow marks the end of morning political lectures... The morning lectures do get to you when you gotta drag yourself outta bed after late night readings and daily "some things to think about" questions. Still, if it was still the 13 class sessions structure, I think I'll enjoy it even better even if there's 11 "some things to think about" to do. Anyway, we were only required to do 4 out of 7, but why lose out on extra credit? Heh heh heh. Ah, no more "some things to think about" for tonight, readings done, bag packed, all ready for tomorrow!
