Reflections

After a surprise barbecue party at Sentosa's Coasta Sands for Charlene, I came home to plonk myself onto the sofa. I managed to catch what I wanted to watch on television - a Channel U documentary production featuring Darren Lim on a trip to China, to plant trees to stop desertification. Seriously, very scary. If you see how the climate change has affected that part of the world, I think you might contemplate living without electricity. A river which was depended on by desert nomads for thousands of years actually dried up in about 8 years just recently. Are we - the city dwellers - partially responsible for it by living in luxury in well air-conditioned malls but leaving those nomads caged in their little huts in temperatures of 50 to 60 degree Celsius just because it is too hot to go outdoors? To be frank, I'm pretty amazed by an ex-CEO of a listed company leaving his position to become an environmentalist. He has an objective to plant 168 square metres of trees per year to stop desertification.

Now, I'm more inspired and motivated to do my part for Earth. As they say, "There is no second chance for Earth."

Did you just leave the lights or fans on when nobody is in the living room?

While we might not be able to what they are doing, but we could start taking baby steps. Shut down your laptop or computer if you are not going to use it in hours. Imagine if 100 people do that, then a lot of fossil fuels are saved, burning coal in power stations is reduced, less carbon dioxide is released, there are less greenhouse gases to trap heat on Earth, and rivers won't dry up as fast. That means more water to last human beings for a longer time. Can you imagine not showering for days? Then perhaps you could do your part by shutting down if you are leaving home, now.

Lack of Updates

Apologies for the lack of updates. Blogger's posting page has been in a mess, it is still in a mess but I've still decided to write an entry.

Life's been like that. I have been tutoring diligently everyday, and last Saturday I conquered the cycling route from East Coast Park to Changi Village. Probably, I cycled about 16 km - correct me if I'm wrong. The bestest part was cycling parallel to the airport runway. Did I mention that I love the airport and airplanes to bits?

And after soooo long, I finally spent some time with mum to watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yesterday. I shall not say anything in case I spoil it for you - but yeah, it's good and I'm gonna buy the entire set of books to read. I've read the first 3 books, but got too busy with other things thereafter to follow up on one of my favourite activities - reading. But right now, I have been catching up. I'm reading my advertising textbook, and also borrowing books from the library. Bedtime stories work well if you can't get to sleep, especially reading textbooks! I fell asleep with much ease yesterday.

Oh well, job hunting's going on. It's also the time of the year when everyone's graduating. I have tuition to sustain my expenditure for the moment, but I hope I'll be able to get a permanent job soon for a better pay.

Till my next update, with hopes that the Blogger posting page has recovered...

Supper Cravings

Recently I have been having supper cravings just at about this time. Right now, I'm hungry. I had a proper meal at 6.30pm, and so it proves that I need food about every 5 hours if I don't snack.

Some people have also commented that I have slimmed down. Well, I not on a diet to become skinnier, I'm on a gain weight diet now. And I've never been on a lose weight diet before, so I think it's just the lack of snacking these days.

Right, maybe I should get something to eat.

*Why no chicken ring snacks at home?*

Happy Eating & Shopping Day!

Today was the Saturday out with RP across the causeway to City Square! After a long tortoise speed like bus ride to the immigrations, we finally arrived...

A mall with more shops compared to Bukit Indah...

First stop! Wong Kok Char Chan Teng for lunch. My mango milkshake came up first - sugar overload!

Then came RP's mango and ________ sago.

I had my french toast...

That had peanut butter in between!

RP had this pancake thingy with cheese...

And the usual sharing of sides: fried curry fishballs!

Total bill: RM 47 = S$19 for both of us... This had our tummies filled for a long time.

Then second eating stop was at Baskin Robbins. But our legs were aching a little, so I think we were concentrating on the caramel filled ice cream more than wanting to take pictures...

After RP went for some treatment of her hair, our final eating stop: Sushi King!

This time, we shared a bowl of kitsune udon since both of us weren't really hungry.

We also shared scallop & onion combination tempura... Which turned out to be yummy!

To satisfy RP's craving of soft shell crabs... But too salty for our taste buds and kidneys. Horrible.

Dinner amounted to RM 38 = S$15+. That's the same as paying for ONE PERSON in SG. Good eating deals we had!

When it all ends, I bring home 3 tees, 1 DVD, some miscelleaneous stuff as well...

I'm so happy to say that the three tees came up only to less than S$18 in total. I love shopping sprees in another currency!

Shopping Day Once Again!~

And Saturday is shopping day again! Can't wait, can't wait.

Let tomorrow come quicker!

Day In Day Out

And the tuition queen is back. From July onwards, I'm effectively tutoring 7 days a week. Everyday an average of 1.5 to 2 hours. But considering the time I have to travel there and back, add another 1 hour to my day of work.

Unless I decide to block out time, I'm not free everyday. So if someone asks me out, supposedly I'm uninterested, then the whole day is out since I have tuition right smack in the afternoon. But if I'm interested, I'll take time off no matter what - like next Saturday is shopping day again! Wheeee~

It's good that I'm occupied everyday because I'm starting to get bored, and I'm looking out for something more challenging...

The House Visit...

Love these to bits. When you can't afford them physically, there are always alternatives!!

Chandeliers in the bedroom!

Lamp post in the living room!!

I'm gonna be a regular visitor to this cozy home...
The Saturday Shopping Trip Across the Causeway

On one fine weekend, the bestie and me decided to conquer Bukit Indah Shopping Centre. We got there on the Yellow Smiling bus... towards the mall for $4 and RM5 for the return trip, and through the 2nd link immigration.

Check out the UN-crowded place on a weekend... It's something different from the Singapore city on a weekend. Quite a nice place to hang out, even for a root beer float.

How can be miss out A&W's root beer float? The original mug from the long missed restaurant.

Then after hard core shopping, it was time to leave...

We will be back!!

It's Saturday!

Hurray! It's shopping trip today. Shop shop shop till we drop! Too bad I still have to tutor in the morning. Otherwise, it's just full day shopping and nothing else.

It's close to 2am now. Till updates on the shopping trip...

Insensitivity

Q. What can insensitivity do?

Which do you think scores 20 points and which do you think scores 70 points?

a. buying a television when the one at home is spoilt
b. asking your other half how was her day and listening to her for 10 minutes

Score high by doing something that requires no money, with just a little effort. That is sensitivity.

A. It can make a woman boil.
----------------
Quarrels again beyond midnight. I can understand from a woman's perspective, and how stupid can guys be when it comes to sensitivity. You MUST tell them what to do, step by step. Well, doesn't that make life less interesting altogether?

It is tough on her. Will he make it up before it is too late?
